Practice Personality and why it matters!
Thursday 22nd March, BVA, London
Contributor: Brian Faulkner
- Why do some practices flourish whilst others struggle? They may both serve the same type of clients, using the same equipment, the same medicines and similar staff? The answer is CULTURE!
- Why do some people struggle to “fit in” in one practice, yet are treated as heroes in another? Once again, culture!
Culture is a dynamic phenomenon that surrounds us at all times and acts as a set of structures, routines, rules and norms that guide and constrain our behaviour, for better and for worse.
This session will describe what culture is and how it can be measured, as well as its crucial relationship to leadership.
We will look at the impact of organisational culture –on marketing, clinical delivery and, crucially, the bottom line as we help you identify if your ‘practice personality’ is helping or hindering the achievement of your goals.
What you will cover:
- What is organisational culture?
- How does it relate to four essential outcomes and four key areas of management?
- How can you assess the culture of your practice?
- How to change your culture to make your practice more competitive and achieve your goals.
- How to use an understanding of culture to influence what goes on in the consulting room.
The day will start at 10:00 and finish at 4:30.
CPD certificate, lunch and refreshments are included.
