SPVS is keen to help practices fulfil their potential by providing CPD opportunities not just for vets, but for the whole practice team. One area that we felt needed attention was the provision of computer software training, in particular, how to get the most out of the commonly used programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.
We investigated various methods of delivering this training, including attendance courses, CD-ROMs and online provision. While researching online options, we discovered teach-ict.net. This is a free tutorial site designed for use by students and teachers of ICT in schools. However, on this site there is a comprehensive list of video tutorials in all the major programs.
We did not find another resource that offered significantly more than this one, despite having associated costs. So, we contacted teach-ict.net, and have subsequently created a link (see below), from the SPVS website, directly to their video tutorial section.
We hope that you and your team find this a useful resource. We would welcome any comments, and if you would like SPVS to look at other ways of delivering ICT training, please let us know. Contact Ben Walton, benwalton@spvs.org.uk < < Back to news |
